2 Timothy 4:1-5
We indeed are living in those times where the truth is constantly flipped for a lie. If we are in Christ then we are to correct, warn, exhort and encourage. We are NOT to sit idly by and keep silent because we MIGHT offend someone engaged in sin. NO NO NO! If we sit idly by then WE are to be judged and God will require that we give account because we knew the truth and we kept silent! WHY? All for the sake of not offending. Sometimes the truth can be offensive because often, it isn't what someone wants to hear! They want to be told that it is okay to remain in their sin because if someone disagrees with their sin and doesn't accept their sin, then that means that they don't love the sinner or accept the sinner. THIS IS SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH! We are to give Godly warnings in love and in Christ and then it is up to the sinner to receive the truth.
THE LOVE OF CHRIST DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ACCEPT THE SIN AND SAY IT IS OKAY TO REMAIN IN SIN! This means that with the love of Jesus Christ we gently correct, warn and admonish those that are in sin around us, so that they might be saved!
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
2 Peter 3:9
Jesus Christ's does indeed love us as we are and there IS acceptance in Him but He will not accept sin in our lives! The story of the woman in the Bible that was taken in adultery:
put right (an error or fault).
|synonyms: rectify, put right, set right, right, amend, emend, remedy, repair|
inform someone in advance of an impending or possible danger, problem, or other unpleasant situation.
|synonyms:||notify, alert, apprise, inform, tell, make someone aware, forewarn, remind, give notice|
Even by the definitions we can see that condemnation is typically to shame. We have no right to shame or condemn to hell because we do not determine that sentence. Only God knows the heart within a person. With the love of Jesus Christ we are supposed to tell the truth! We are to warn and correct with the love of Christ, those that we see in sin, so that someone might be saved! We are NOT to sit idly by while we see others engaged in sin and keep silent because we might offend. We simply speak the truth with love, the healing Word of God! After that, Jesus will do the rest and His light can find it's way in!
